What is the VBank × WAWUAfrica partnership?
WAWUAfrica is a skills development platform training 10 million Nigerian talents. Through the VBank and WAWU partnership, every participant who completes WAWUAfrica onboarding automatically receives a VBank account to support their financial journey alongside their skills development.
How do I get a VBank account through WAWUAfrica?
When customers complete the WAWUAfrica registration form, VBank automatically creates a pre-account for you. You receive an account number immediately, but the account must be activated through the V by VFD app with liveness verification before you can transact.
What's the difference between a "pre-account" and an "active account"?
- Pre-account: Account number generated but has limited functionality (cannot send money until activated)
- Active account: You have completed the VBank app signup + liveness check. The account is fully functional.
ACCOUNT CREATION & ONBOARDING
1. I registered on WAWUAfrica but didn’t create a VBank account. Why do I have one?
As part of the WAWUAfrica program, a VBank account is automatically created for you during registration.
You don’t need to apply separately. Your details (name, phone number, email, and NIN/BVN) were securely used to open your account.
2. Quick Start - If you just registered on WAWUAfrica
Your VBank account has already been created.
To get started:

- Open the app and enter your BVN and NIN
- Continue your setup

3. I didn’t receive my VBank account details. Can I still access my account without the activation email notification?
Yes.
- Download the V by VFD app and click on sign up
- Open the app and enter your BVN and NIN
- Your account will be detected automatically
- Continue your setup
4. After registering on the WAWUAFRICA website Do I need to register again on VBank ?
No.
Your account has already been created. You only need to complete the setup in the app.

ACCOUNT ACTIVATION
5. How do I activate my VBank account?
Follow these steps:
- Download the V by VFD app from your app store

- Open the app and tap Proceed
- Complete the required steps:
- Provide BVN/NIN
- Face verification (selfie)
- Create transaction PIN
- Upgrade your account by providing your address and/or uploading a utility bill
Once done, your account becomes fully active.
6. Why can’t I send money yet?
Your account is temporarily restricted until you complete a quick verification. This is a standard step to keep your account secure.
To unlock transfers:
Complete your account setup (especially BVN, NIN, selfie, and verification steps).
7. How long does activation take?
Activation is instant once you complete all required steps.
8. What is Tier 2 and Tier 3?
Your account is upgraded in stages:
- Tier 2:
After basic verification (BVN, NIN, selfie, PIN)
→ Allows transfers up to ₦100,000 daily - Tier 3:
After full verification (address + utility bill)
→ Higher transaction limits

9. Can I receive money immediately?
Yes.
Your account can receive money immediately after creation.
10. When can I start sending money?
You can send money after completing your account setup and removing restrictions.
11. How do I fund my account?
You can fund your account via:
- Bank transfer from another bank
- USSD transfer
- Mobile banking apps

12. What is Target Savings?
Target Savings helps you automatically save towards a goal (e.g. laptop, certification, or business capital) with scheduled contributions and rewards as you progress.
You:

13. Do I earn rewards?
Yes.
You earn VRewards points when you:
- Fund your account
- Save consistently
- Buy airtime/data
- Complete savings milestones

COMMON ISSUES
15. My NIN/BVN was rejected during registration
Please ensure:
- Your NIN/BVN is correct
- Your name matches your NIN/BVN records

16. I already have a VBank account. What happens if I register on WAWUAfrica?
If you already have a VBank account, we will not create a new one for you.
Your existing account will be automatically linked to the WAWUAfrica program.
You can continue using your account as usual and still enjoy all program benefits, including VRewards
17. I didn’t receive any new account details after registering on WAWUAfrica
If you already had a VBank account, you may not receive a new account number since your existing account is reused.
Simply log in to the V by VFD app to continue.
18. I forgot my login details, what should I do?
Use the “Forgot Password” option on the app to reset your login details and access your account.
19. I entered my BVN/NIN but my account wasn’t found
Please ensure:
- You are using the same details submitted on WAWUAfrica
- Your NIN/BVN is correct
If the issue persists, contact our support team.
20. I didn’t complete my setup earlier. Can I continue?
Yes.
Your progress is saved. You can continue from where you stopped anytime.
21. I downloaded the app but didn’t see anything related to WAWUAfrica
Enter your BVN or NIN.
If your account was created via WAWUAfrica, the system will detect it and guide you.
22. Why am I seeing “We can’t match your selfie with BVN image”?
This may happen if your BVN was not automatically linked during your account setup.
What you should do:
- Provide your BVN to our support team
- Our team will securely update your profile and complete your verification
Once this is done:
- Your account restriction will be removed
- You’ll be able to use all features normally
23. I received my account number but can’t log in
Make sure you:
Download the V by VFD app
Use the same BVN/NIN used during WAWUAfrica registration
Complete setup by following the onboarding steps.
